My fiancé and I are very fortunate to have discovered Kassab
Jewelers. From the moment we first walked into the Washington Square location,
we were warmly welcomed and treated with the highest courtesy and respect. Past
experiences with other jewelers had caused us to believe that most jewelry
stores were frustrating and not enjoyable to go to. These past experiences
made jewelry shopping stressful and I always felt that I was never being
treated as a customer should be treated. This was not the case at Kassab Jewelers.
When my fiancé and I walked in, we received warm smiles and welcoming hellos.
Erin assisted us in our engagement ring search. We let her know our must haves
with the ring - an eternity style hand crafted ring in platinum. Erin walked us
through a variety of beautiful choices and we ultimately settled on an amazing
Tacori engagement ring. From the purchase, through the ring delivery, we
received constant communication and amazing service.
About two months after I began wearing my engagement ring, my fiancé and I
moved to a new home. I was told when we picked up the ring that this was
"a work of art" and to be careful when exercising, moving, etc.
Needless to say, I continued to wear my ring and during the process of moving,
I damaged the ring by crushing it on the bottom. My fiancé called Jason and he
instructed us to bring the ring in right away. Jason guided us in the process
of getting my ring repaired. They handled the communication with Tacori and
completely stood by their commitment of superior quality and premier customer
service. We were amazed and my ring looked just as good as it did on day one.
A few weeks ago, my fiancé and I began the search for our wedding bands. Since
we live closer to the Salem area, I decided to check out the local jewelry
store who also sold Tacori rings. The level of customer service was nothing in
comparison and the helpful inside knowledge of the ring's craftsmanship that I
had come to expect by working with Kassab Jewelers was not present. I also felt
that I was judged, just as I had been in prior searches at other jewelers, and
not given a welcoming experience. After this unfavorable experience, I did not
want to waste my time looking anywhere else. My fiancé and I drove straight to
Washington Square and ordered our wedding bands from Kassab Jewelers. The
process was smooth, knowledgeable and most of all, enjoyable! I can't wait to
see the wedding bands!

Dear Penny,
When I first began the process of selecting an engagement ring, I found most of
the local stores to be intimidating. Many jewelers only showed me very
expensive rings and I felt pressure to spend out of my price range. This
quickly turned what should be an exciting and memorable part of getting engaged
into an uncomfortable predicament. When I walked into Kassab jewelers in
downtown Portland, I immediately could tell that something was different.
Penny greeted me and asked if she could help. I shared with her my
frustrations and she could tell that I just needed to try on some rings and put
some fun back into the experience. We tried on several rings, but none of
them were quite right. Different hand shapes need different ring styles
and Penny knows this. She quickly pointed out the styles that would be
most flattering on my long, thin fingers. (I needed a thick band to de-
emphasize the long space between my hand and knuckle.) She then pulled
out a ring and said, "Look what I made for a local girl for
$." The ring was GORGEOUS! I tried it on, and my fiancee
told me that everything about me lit up. Kassab worked with me to make
sure that we stayed within our budget and gave me an amazing ring for the
price. My friends have all been shocked to learn what my ring cost,
stating that they all thought it would be so much more expensive! Penny
was patient, professional, and a no pressure sales woman. I got the ring

I LOVE MY RING!!!! I get comments and compliments on it everywhere I go! Thank you so much, again, for your help and for your commitment to finding us the perfect stone and the perfect ring. We really absolutely love it. We will be writing a formal letter to Mr. Kassab letting him know how pleased we are with you and with my ring. Brett had to leave the day after we picked my ring up - what timing! But, he will be back late next week, and we will be sure to get it sent off then.
I have a quick question for you: I know the appraisal/replacement value paperwork won't be sent out for a couple weeks, but were we supposed to get a preliminary amount that we could call in to our insurance company until the papers are received? Maybe we misunderstood, but I would like to get it on our insurance ASAP :).

The second service I’d like to refer you to is one I’ve had extensive time working with. One day while looking for a jeweler who could help me build a ring for my then-to-be fiancee/wife I chose at random a jeweler from a list of Portland area jewelers I pulled up. I don’t remember the first ones name because they were both rude and uninformed, but the second call blew me away. To give you some background info on the situation I had just started a new job after being unemployed for a couple of months and as such had no substantial resources to work with financially. I was very up front with the lady on the other end of the phone and told her that I had no down payment then and would definitely not qualify for any in house credit lines. In what I figured out was more than a sales move on her part she acknowledged and then dismissed the issue and told me they would have no problem working with me. Still wary I told her what I was looking for and we set up a meeting.
When I arrived at the shop Penny (the lady with whom I had spoken) was waiting for me and broke away from her work to come and sit down with me. I had emailed her several pictures of rings I wanted to approximate and then told her the parts I liked and disliked about each. We talked some more and she showed me a few of the rings they had along those lines. When I finally settled on one that I loved we moved onto the stone. Karley had made it very clear to me that she didn’t want a diamond on a stick ring, no matter how gigantic the stone was. In fact she didn’t want a diamond at all bless her soul. She wanted a yellow sapphire. Penny told me not to worry about it anymore that evening and to go home; I would hear from her in the next few days.
True to her word I soon got a call from Penny with great news, her buyer had found her a wonderful selection of stones and I should come in and choose one. After choosing a stone the ring was sized and the design was finalized, they even modified the band from the manufacturerwith two extra side stones that Karley wanted to fill out the look.
No, the story doesn’t end there. While at the Portland Bridal Show later we stopped by a booth without looking at the sign and asked them if they had anything that would match her engagement ring with a band. Karley wanted a cradle band that would hold the engagement ring on both sides and conform to the shape of the ring, without detracting from it. The jeweler helping us called over a nearby gentleman wearing white gloves and asked him if he had any suggestions for us. He took the ring and studied it and after a moment said “I know this ring,” and asked us if we were working with Penny. It was Mr. Kassab, the owner of Kassab Jewelers. He told us what he thought we should do with it, and to call Penny and set up a consultation when we were ready.
When we went into the store again to meet with them he and Penny were both there, and when we couldn’t find anything suitable in their stock they told us to let them take a wax mould, and they would build a ring from scratch to cradle the one we had, and not scratch off the fine detailing that existed on the engagement ring.
Needless to say, the final product was perfect; and our experience there couldn’t have been better. They were courteous, professional, knowledgeable and reliable. I will definitely shop with them in the future, and would gladly give my endorsement for anyone else to do the same.

I recently purchased an engagement ring from you during a stint overseas in support of our efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan and I was slightly concerned. There are many dangers accompanying the purchase of a ring of such significance online. Will it turn it out the way you expected it? Is the dealer legitimate? Is it a quality diamond? Will the band accompany the diamond? I need not have worried about these concerns. Your overwhelming professionalism and excellent customer service reflected the dedication you clearly have for your trade. This culminated in my proposal to my long time girlfriend. I meticulously planned to propose to her in Paris, at the Jules Verne Restaurant. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, and a fairly exclusive. The view was breathtaking and sitting at a delicious dinner above the “City of Lights” required a diamond of such caliber to dim those lights. The ring I ordered certainly had that caliber, the sparkle of the ring was such that it looked like a small star in the restaurant and matched or exceeded all the lights of Paris. “Proof is in the pudding”, as they say since my fiancé could not hold back her tears and barely remembers the dessert the ring accompanied. I had not seen in her six months and was overjoyed when she accepted my proposal. I cannot thank you enough for your efforts in making sure I received a “yes” from her and for ensuring I could make her dreams a reality. You’ve made two people very, very happy. Thank you.

I was in a Kassab Jewelers store in Oregon a few months ago while on vacation. I went into the store with the mindset of just looking around and seeing the same kind of jewelry as all the other stores as well as online. I had never purchased an engagement ring before and somewhat had an idea of what I was looking for but was never satisfied because the other stores did not carried the diamond color that I wanted. While I was in Kassab Jewelers, I had seen a ring that caught my eye instantly and had never seen a similar one anywhere else. I knew that this was the one my girlfriend would absolutely love! Although there was still the issue of the diamond color and not being able to see what the ring would look like with it in place, the sales associate helped me in ways that none of the other stores did. She showed me all the options I had using techniques that I never would have thought of and never would have thought a jewelry store would do. With a lot of progress made, there was another issue of purchasing the ring. I was staying in California at the time and only had a few days before I had to go back. The ring was not exactly how I wanted it yet and was very skeptical about making this purchase over the phone or online. The same person that helped me in the store also helped me to get the ring the way I wanted it through emails, photographs, and phone calls without any troubles at all. I have to say that I am very satisfied with how the ring turned out and with all the help I received! I will more than gladly turn to them when it is time to purchase the wedding ring!

I recently decided to upgrade my 2 carat princess cut diamond ring to a 5 carat round brilliant. After filtering through the millions of shady websites offering "great deals", the chain stores with all of their corporate policies and plastic sales people, I had all but given up. There is no way I was going to send tens of thousands of my hard earned money to a person I have never met and know nothing about. My core issue was that I needed to SEE and SPEAK to a human being and interact with someone I felt secure with. I guess I am old fashion but I still appreciate a prehistoric concept that is known as CUSTOMER SERVICE! I know, how dare I. But seriously, when I am venturing in to the realm of diamonds, and I am no Gemologist, I am not going into this purchase on a whim. Thank you for letting me vent so I can get to my point. About two and a half hours south of Seattle, in the City of Tigard Oregon, there is a family owned jewelry store named Kassab Jewelers. I was in Portland for the weekend with my sister and we took the afternoon off of soap operas and drove ten minutes out of Portland to a Gorgeous Center called Washington Square. Within seconds of walking in to Kassab's I actually shook hands with THE OWNER, his wife and daughter, as well as his sales assaociates that he treats more like his own family than employees. The diamond selection was like nothing I had ever seen. Designers like Tacori and Verragio- I hate to sound like a teen but....... The shop is hott! I was so comfortable and Pierre is an absolute kick! I was laughing so hard at the stories and jokes about his kids, life and romance that I was in tears. Following the hearty laughter I got down to Bizz.
They were able to beat Blue Nile's price on the diamond (GIA CERTIFIED WITH EXCELLENT CUT GRADE) and to accommodate my "dream ring" design I have always wanted, The jeweler (at the shop mind you), hand made the whole thing from scratch. I would venture to say this is the difference between a piece of jewelry and an heirloom. NO SALES TAX, better prices than the internet, lifetime trade in, AND THEY FINANCED ME! The bracelet is gorgeous. Of course, your daughter called you while I was there and you had asked her to show me the diff between the color in my bracelet vs the other bracelet you have in stock. And yes, there is a definite difference. Pierre, it is a beautiful piece of jewelry. I am very happy with what you put together - and as you had said, it was going to be better than what you had in the showroom...I most definitely agree.
Pierre - this bracelet transaction confirmed even more than what I thought - jewelry is personal, but the relationship with the jeweler is even more important than the piece. I was actually contemplating that thought before I picked up the bracelet. I can't thank you enough - except of course, buy more jewelry from you right??? :)
