We recommend that you bring in your jewelry at least every six (6) months (if not more frequently) for inspection, the security of the stones and overall wear/condition of the piece. We offer complimentary cleaning, polishing, and inspection at our three locations (Washington Square, Downtown Portland, and Downtown Lake Oswego) for your fine jewelry purchased from Kassab Jewelers; we also tighten any loose stones and make minor adjustments at no charge to you. We do reserve the right to send pieces back to their respective designers at our discretion.
Some repair and sizing work may be required to be completed by the respective designer to keep their warranty intact; if we deem your piece in need of repair by the designer directly, all shipping charges will be covered for a period of one year after the date of purchase.
Jewelry that cannot be mended or repaired to like-new condition, including non-precious metals and materials such as carbon fiber and tungsten, are not eligible for warranty coverage.
Any unauthorized work such as maintenance, repairs, cleanings or modifications completed on your Kassab Jewelers purchased Jewelry by anyone other than Kassab Jewelers or our licensed designers will void the Kassab Jewelers warranty. Designer jewelry warranties are also subject to termination following unauthorized work.
We do not cover damage due to normal wear, product loss, or loss of stones. Damage or loss that results from failure to obtain repairs necessary to maintain the integrity of the product are also not covered. Gold and other precious metals are soft and can reshape easily with wear especially over time, and even gold alloys have their limits. If these metals and alloys experience too much force, they will crack and break as would any other metal. Some examples of common jewelry issues that would not be considered manufacturing defects include:
- Discoloration due to exposure to chemicals, such as make-up, swimming pools, hot tubs, or household cleaning agents.
- Prongs and precious metals can wear over time and may require "building up" or restoration work; this is considered a component of normal wear.
- Bent, caught or worn out prongs(s) allowing a stone to fall out or be lost due to normal wear or other damage.
- Lost stone or a stone has fallen out due to chipping or breaking caused by normal wear or other damage.
If you believe your Kassab Jewelers item has a manufacturing defect, you may bring it to us for inspection. If we determine your jewelry is damaged due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair the merchandise.
LOSS & THEFT
We recommend you insure your jewelry through your private agent or through a policy from Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company to guard against loss and theft.
We work directly with your insurance company to replace lost, stolen and/or damaged jewelry. We provide all Kassab Jewelers fine jewelry purchases valued at $2000 or greater with complimentary appraisals so that you may insure and protect your items.
TRADE-IN & UPGRADE SERVICES
Natural Diamonds purchased at Kassab Jewelers are eligible for trade-in toward another diamond(s) of equal or greater value at any time. The trade-in value of natural diamonds purchased at Kassab Jewelers is the original purchase price. Lab-grown diamonds are not eligible for trade-in. Rings may be eligible for trade-in on a case-by-case basis; our jewelry experts will inspect your item(s) to determine if they qualify for trade and what the trade-in value is. Stones that are chipped are not eligible for trade-in.
RETURN & EXCHANGE POLICY
Returns or Exchanges for items purchased at one of our three Kassab Jewelers locations (Washington Square, Downtown Portland, and Lake Oswego) may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of the date of purchase. Custom designed, special ordered items, and items that have been altered or modified in any way (such as engraving or sizing) cannot be returned or exchanged.
